The nominees will be competing against 54 business men and women from across the South of England for the title of Ernst and Young”s Regional Entrepreneur Of The Year.
The finalists are:
John Hawkins, chief executive of ATEX at GreenPark - a leading provider of software solutions services to the global media industry.
Alastair Storey and William Baxter, heads of BaxterStorey at Thames Valley Park, the UK”s leading independent food service provider for business and industry.
Ben Goss, chief executive of Distribution Technology in Vastern Road which provides financial planning and sales technology to large financial institutions.

Carlyle, an entrepreneur who works in the wireless and software industries, said the fact Pelz picked Burbank means little. ‘This is not the party. It”s Dwight Pelz. He”s the nominee of one guy,’ Carlyle said.
State Rep. Sam Hunt, D-Olympia, chair of the House Democratic Campaign Committee, said he”s not even sure if the party nominees will get any financial help from the committee.
‘If we have two strong Democrats after the primary, we”ll probably just let them work it out,’ Hunt said. ‘They”ll have to raise money on their own and fight it out amongst the brotherhood.’
Party leaders say it”s too early to say how this will all play out.
‘We”ll find out how satisfied the voters are with the top two,’ said Esser, the state Republican Party chairman.

New rocket aims for space tourism market.
Entrepreneurs of the new commercial space age plan to start test flights in 2010 of a practical four-engine rocket ship that will take people on Mach 2 thrill rides up to 200,000 feet and which also has the interest of the Air Force.
The design of the Lynx rocket was shown off Wednesday by Xcor Aerospace, a Mojave, Calif.-based company that has spent nine years developing rocket engines.
Fueled by liquid oxygen and kerosene, the two-seat ship - a bit more slender than a small executive jet - is intended to operate like an airliner, making up to four flights a day while using runways for takeoffs and landings like a normal airplane.
CEO Jeff Greason withheld specifics of costs and technical details at a news conference but said he was certain investors will finance construction of the Lynx, which he estimated from will cost ’south of $10 million,’ not including previous development costs.
